Dear reader,

Here is a round up of what  has transpired in our sphere since commencement of this year.  We are excited to have a new project aboard. On 27th March 2018, we joined nine We Effect partner organizations and cooperatives from different regions in Uganda for a launch of a five year project in Uganda. What an honor! For the next five years therefore, ACFODE will be a We Effect strategic partner who will build capacity of 5 other partner organizations to deliver gender responsive services and products to their members (women, men and young people).  We can’t wait to add our energies to this great cause.

At the onset of January this year, we rolled out a brand new television show dubbed; Fasi Fas! The program is the first of its kind television show on Women and Women’s participation in Leadership in Uganda and is made possible in collaboration with Konrad Adenaeur Stiftung (KAS), UN Women Uganda and Mango Tree Educational Enterprises. We hope you are enjoying it.

Find out more on our interventions in the districts of Kisoro, Apac and Pallisa where we work with model couples and women councilors to champion support for women and girls’ rights through mentoring and trainings on gender equality. Our research study report on the effective implementation of the domestic violence act in Teso and Acholi sub region is out. We share some of the findings here.

Last but not least, we commemorated women’s day with Gayaza High School, Apac district, Kisoro district and the Rotary Club of Naalya.  Find updates on these and more in this edition of our quarterly newsletter.

Enjoy the digest,

Cheers,

Editor,

Sherinah Namata.
